Support Fund for Feminist Organizations: actively promoting the rights of women and girls (FSOF)

The Support Fund for Feminist Organizations (FSOF) forms part of France’s feminist diplomacy and supports feminist organizations operating in AFD’s partner countries.

Objective

To reduce gender-based inequalities by strengthening the technical, financial and administrative capacities of feminist civil society organizations in France's partner countries. It is overseen by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the AFD, in regular consultation with civil society organizations.

Am I eligible?

The Support Fund for Feminist Organizations is intended for feminist civil society organizations in all their diversity, whether formally constituted or not, working to promote gender equality and transform gender relations in countries benefiting from France’s official development assistance (ODA).

€254 million approved to benefit over 1 400 feminist organizations in 75 countries between 2020 and 2024
Consultation of CSOs through a consultation mechanism

Sexual and reproductive health and rights and sex education
Fight against discrimination and sexist and sexual violence, including harmful practices (female genital mutilation, child and forced marriage)
Women’s empowerment and economic participation
Social and political leadership of women
Access to primary, secondary and higher education for girls
