Since foresight and understanding mean acting in a more effective manner, we carry out applied research at AFD. Our goal? To provide support to developing countries in their economic, ecological and social transition.
Bringing together academics from developing and developed countries, this research is carried out by multidisciplinary teams: specialists in economics, environmental sciences, sociology, demographics, anthropology and political science.
Beyond knowledge production, it is also essential that we share it, speed up its diffusion and debate about it to bring it alive and make it useful to development stakeholders.
It's important to provide a regular discussion platform on topics concerning research, results, and public policy perspectives. Entitled "Research Conversations," these webinars are offered on Wednesdays, in French or English, depending on the speaker.
Climate change, preserving biodiversity and forging social ties, are just of a few of the topics to be covered.
